Data protection
The Opintoluotsi.fi online service registers any information that the user provides when he or she contacts the Opintoluotsi.fi advice service.
This information is used for research and the further development of the service. Reports or other publications will not include any information that would enable the identification of a user.
The Opintoluotsi.fi service does not handle sensitive personal details. The contact information of persons registered in the Opintoluotsi.fi advice service are not used for direct marketing or supplied to external parties.
Privacy protection
The information obtained through monitoring is not used to establish the identity of users. Exceptions to the above rule are, however, possible when the Opintoluotsi.fi editors have reason to believe that a criminal offence has been committed while using the service or that the service’s terms of use have been violated.

Users can also prevent the identification of their browser by blocking the storage of third party cookies in the browser. When using Internet Explorer 6.0 or Mozilla Firefox, for example, this can be done by selecting Tools -> Internet Options (or Options) on the browser menu bar and changing the settings on the Privacy tab.
