Electrical engineer

Responsibilities

Electrical engineers work in companies in the electrical and electronics industry and in power plants. You can specialise in electrical power technology, electronics, telecommunications engineering, computer technology or automation.

Electrical engineers work in product design, research and development, sales and marketing, and in company management and administration. You might also work in production, maintenance, purchasing and materials, and training. Working conditions vary: you could work in an office or a production area. If you work in the export industry you might need to travel

Skills

Electrical engineers need to have advanced technical skills and knowledge, a knowledge of languages, problem solving skills, and the ability to work with others.
