Responsibilities
An electronics engineer works for a company which makes telecommunications equipment, computers, electronics, automation equipment, or components. He is involved in product design, research and development, and sales and marketing.
The working environment could be an office, a production area or a customer’s place of work. If you work in the export industry you might need to travel. Overtime is common, especially in commercial positions.
Skills
Electronics engineers need to have technical skills and knowledge, good general knowledge and problem solving skills. They have to be able to work with others and communicate, and they need organisational ability and a knowledge of languages. Customer-oriented approaches to production call for a willingness to provide a service.
