Responsibilities
A tailor makes quality suits and clothes, repairs old clothes and works with fur. He may be specialised in either men’s or women’s clothes. Tailors often make specialised products and official and theatrical apparel.
A tailor works as a self-employed professional or for a clothes shop or the clothing industry. Tailors in clothes factories act as supervisors, produce sample models, and do design work.
Skills
The work requires a mastery of sewing techniques, dexterity and the ability to visualise. Tailors in industry need to have managerial skills.
